Using this site means accepting what follows. Holding membership means accepting the charter as well, which is the governing document and takes precedence over this page.

The site

Everything published here is provided for information. Positions and papers are the work of their named authors and are not legal, financial or investment advice.

Applications

Submitting an application does not create a right to membership. The admissions committee may accept, defer with a stated reason, or decline. A decision is issued within fourteen days of a complete file. Dues are collected only on acceptance.

Membership

Dues are annual, published, and identical for everyone at a given tier, with a stated Lebanon resident rate. Membership is personal and cannot be transferred, lent or held on behalf of an organisation except under the institutional tier.

Membership may be ended by the member at any time, and by the institution on the grounds set out in the charter, which include partisan or sectarian conduct in the institution's name, misuse of the register, and misrepresentation in an application.

Confidentiality

Convenings and the private floor run under the Chatham House Rule. What is said may be used; who said it may not be repeated.

Intellectual property

The name, the emblem and the published work belong to the institution. Members retain the rights to their own writing and grant a licence to publish it here.
