Privacy
This notice covers lubnan.online. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
What we collect
From applicants: name, jurisdiction, languages, declared connection to Lebanon, professional record, the written statement, and two references. From anyone using the contact form: name, email, organisation, jurisdiction and the message.
We never ask for confession or religious affiliation, and we do not record it. We do not ask for documentary proof of Lebanese ancestry. Descent is declared, not proven.
Why we hold it
To assess an application, to verify a professional record against public sources, to run sanctions and adverse media screening as a matter of standard diligence, and to administer membership once admitted. Nothing else.
Who sees it
The admissions committee, the secretariat, and the members of the Council where a decision is escalated. References named in an application are contacted directly. No applicant data is sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or used to train anything.
How long we keep it
A deferred file is kept so that a returning applicant does not start again, and is deleted at the applicant's request or after three years, whichever comes first. A declined file is deleted within ninety days unless the applicant asks us to keep it. Member records are kept for the duration of membership and for six years after it ends, for accounting and governance purposes.
Your rights
Access, correction, export, deletion and objection. Write to secretariat@lubnan.online and we will act within thirty days. Where the GDPR or a comparable regime applies to you, we treat it as applying to us.
Where it lives
Form submissions are processed by Netlify, which hosts this site, and reach the secretariat by email. Data may therefore be processed in the United States and the European Union.
